Brand New HTML Elements

Web developers choosing to use Google’s Material 3 for Web will no longer be using HTML elements such as <ol> Ordered List, <li> List Item, or <select> Select. Why? Control, according to Google.

Google asserts that extending or customizing built in elements such as <button> limits what is possible. Therefore, an entire suite of novel custom HTML elements is the Google approach.

Conclusion

Google promises to deliver what is not possible using yesterday’s HTML elements and has published Material HTML custom elements, or Material 3 for Web.
